My work is about relationships; how things relate to each other. Through the materiality of color, form, and movement, I examine the intertwining of visible and invisible forces; natural, physical, and spiritual. Lines unfolding across the canvas, connecting and disconnecting, exteriorize our human and cultural interactions. The work is influenced by personal experience and observation. It is catalyzed by tree limbs, body parts, and piles of garbage or laundry. Obscured within the process of making, and through the filter of abstraction, the paintings are left intentionally ambiguous for the viewer’s changing perception.
